As part of the ASP’s new personalized learning modules, a group of 30 students, selected from among the ASP students and the students of the Honor Program Master at TU Delft, participated in an intensive course on ‘Business Leadership Skills’ held at the Delft University of Technology. The course was coordinated by Professor Hans de Bruijn, a full professor at TU Delft and a visiting professor at Politecnico di Milano.
During the course, students worked in small groups under the guidance of professional skills trainers to practice five essential skills: giving feedback, negotiating, pitching, debating, arguing, and diversity management.
Here are some ‘take-home messages’ from some of the participants in the ASP course:
I was inspired by the amazing energy of our teachers. They made us feel involved and surpassed my expectations by far. The best teachers I’ve had the pleasure to work with.
It was an eye-opening experience: dealing with emotions, learning new skills, and open communication was an interesting challenge. I found particularly fascinating the pitching workshop we went through. We had the chance to train different aspects of public speaking, from how to create an effective speech to how to deliver it in a captivating way!
The course was informative, enjoyable, and helped me build lasting friendships and memories. The sessions were well-structured all in the leadup to the final pitch. I gained valuable tips for effective leadership that I’ll apply in the future. A huge thank you to all who made it possible.
In the Leadership Skills course, I found brilliant minds and, above all, colleagues who were eager to share their ideas and help each other.
