The ASP elective programme continues with Research Skills, a workshop-based course taught by Prof. Davide Spallazzo (Department of Design, Politecnico di Milano) and designed to help ASP students develop essential research competencies for their interdisciplinary projects.
The course addresses a key challenge in innovation projects: transforming a project brief into a structured research plan with clear research questions, appropriate methodologies, and robust evidence. Through practical tools and interactive activities, participants learn how to frame a project as a researchable problem, position it through contextual and literature reviews, and define research aims, objectives, and questions.
Working on real ASP interdisciplinary projects, students explore different research approaches, including interviews, case studies, prototyping, and research through design. The programme also guides participants in mapping the research process and communicating their work effectively through abstracts and short pitches.
By strengthening their research skills, ASP students gain valuable tools to better design, validate, and communicate the outcomes of their interdisciplinary and innovation projects, enhancing the overall impact of their work within the Alta Scuola Politecnica community.
