Innovation for sustainability with the project ORACLE

ORACLE, an ASP 18th Cycle project coordinated by Professors Fabio Deorsola and Lidia Castoldi, has developed an effective method for plastic recycling and the production of sustainable materials for the food industry, in collaboration with GREEN Chemicals® and Gamma Meccanica S.p.A.

By leveraging CO₂ for an improved cleaning process of extruded polystyrene, this innovation makes waste more suitable for recovery, potentially enabling the recycling of up to 95% of discarded materials. This could pave the way for a certified protocol and even a patent in the near future.
