The purpose of the project is to verify to what extent the so-called “Corridor policies”:
– are considered by territorial bodies as an opportunity to support territorial and/or urban policies and are taken into account by economic subjects as means of subsisting initiatives of local development;
– really act as an engine for sustainable development at different territorial levels;
– which costs they can cause and which environmental opportunities they can offer;
– which links they have with the landscape topics and the excellence characters of territories.
The project aims to analyse the actual situation in managing corridor policies and territorial transformations at the different scales and to suggest some innovative ways to proceed, about which a valuation will be conduct with regard to:
– their operational feasibility;
– their fall out on local development and territorial added value;
– their capability to respond to the more relevant requirements of the various actors directly or indirectly involved in the policies.
Particular attention will be obviously paid to the main urban nodes of Piemonte and Lombardia Regions.
